Jennifer (Jeni) Roderick, a licensed physical therapist, is thrilled to return to her career with the opening of her own practice in her local Chicago community. Her passion for physical therapy was sparked by her own experience recovering from a knee injury in high school. Jeni's strong academic and research foundation began at the University of California at Davis, where she double majored in Biomechanics and Psychology. At Davis she worked in the Biomechanics Gait Lab studying movement rehabilitation after traumatic brain injuries as well as evaluating, monitoring and training patients in the Cardiac Rehab Lab.  After graduation she returned to her hometown of Santa Monica and began working as a Physical Therapy Aide at USC University Hospital, where she was able to work with a wide variety of patients, from post-surgical to rehab, ICU, inpatient psych and outpatient. She also worked alongside USC professors on research studies for the NIH focusing on patients that had had a stroke and patients with Parkinson's Disease. Jeni earned her Masters in Physical Therapy and a Certificate in Gerontology at California State Long Beach. She spent a summer in San Francisco working with a professor at UCSF researching Forced-Use after a stroke, a study that was eventually published. Her internships spanned diverse environments, including pediatric inpatient care at UCLA, Neurological rehab at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center and Gait Lab, all levels of acute care and outpatient general orthopedic patients as well as experience in a Burn Unit doing wound care. Jeni's job at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco was unique as she split time daily between acute and outpatient care. She realized how much she enjoyed working with acutely injured patients, following patients pre- and post-surgically as well as some from the ER to the Skilled Nursing facility and then full recovery once they were discharged home. This concept of caring for patients along their continuum of recovery began her vision for Continuum Care. She took time away from her profession to move cross country for her husband's job, raise their three children, spent time in a preschool setting as a teacher's aide and completed her Balanced Body training for Pilates Mat, Reformer and Chair. Now, with her own practice, Jeni is excited to fulfill her vision of one on one, individualized care for her patients. She looks forward to making a meaningful impact on her patient's lives, offering personalized and comprehensive care tailored to their recovery journey.
